The Dove

I don't normally drink  or frequent pubs, but one exception is for my local, the Belgian The Dove at the Broadway Market. They have a big assortment of Belgian beers and I have no shame to admit my favourite is strawberry flavoured.

London fields

Now I'm giving you yet another of my favorite places in London, the marvellous London Fields. I count myself incredibly lucky to live at walking distance from this pretty green space. The grass seems to be always green, even winter time and I lost count of how many picnics I had on it. If the weather is nice on a Saturday morning, I always end there after buying some African food from a stall at the Broadway Market.

A better day at The Market

I felt a bit guilty for posting the picture of a grey, wet and miserable looking Broadway Market last Saturday. It didn't feel fair, the place being always so vibrant, so full of life and colours and the smell of food. So I went back today(as I love the place, any excuse will do) and sure enough everything and everybody was looking much better. And of course I ate a slice of puzzle cake, can never have enough of it.

Wet Market

As always, I was looking Forward to my usual Saturday breakfast at the Broadway Market. Despite of the dreadful weather. Lets just say that going was a bad decision. The downpour made everything and everybody miserable. A real pity, Saturdays like today must be awful for the traders and the entire place had a sad look. I had a coffee, bought some bananas and a baguette and run back home hungry and wet. Lets hope next Saturday is better.

Icy Canal

Like every Saturday, today I went for my traditional stroll around the neighbourhood, as always ending at the Broadway Market for a nice cappuccino and maybe a slice of puzzle cake from one of the stalls. The place wasn't as crowded as it normally is on a Saturday morning, certainly because of the big chill that took over the entire country. On my way back, I stopped to take this picture of an almost frozen Regent's Canal that looked much prettier than on warmer days.
